DescriptionHP Smart Update Tools (HP SUT) is an application which enables firmware and software deployment via the iLO management network using the server’s local administrator credentials. HP SUT can run as a service when working with HP OneView managed servers or in an On Demand mode. HP SUT requires a Service Pack for ProLiant-based ISO containing HP Smart Update Manager version 7.4.0 or later, iLO 4 firmware version 2.30 or later, and an iLO Advanced Pack license for deployment. Reboot Requirement: Reboot is not required after installation for updates to take effect and hardware stability to be maintained. Installation:
- Download the Smart Component (cp023942.exe) file to a local directory on the server where you want to install the software.
- Change to the directory.
- Run the .exe file by double-clicking it. A dialog box will display.
- Click the ‘Install’ button to install HP SUT.

Please note the following: HP SUT requires a Service Pack for ProLiant-based ISO containing HP Smart Update Manager (HP SUM) 7.4.0 or later. If an earlier version of HP SUM is used, HP SUT will notify the user that HP SUM 7.4.0 and later is required. HP SUT uses the HP RESTful Tool to communicate with iLO. HP RESTful Tool is included with the HP SUT component and is installed as part of the HP SUT installation process. If an earlier version of the HP RESTful Tool is already installed on a server, the HP RESTful Tool provided with HP SUT will be upgraded on the server and the older version will not be removed. HP SUT will only service HP ProLiant Gen8 servers and later.
